Where to find a good "enter your zip-code and get your elected officials" resource
There are several of these on the web, but we're in need of something that gives text-based returns (or something easier to parse the well-formatted web pages). We need to provide a list of officials based on a zip code and load those into the letters and faxes we will make available to our users.
We are completely privately funded (and non-profit individuals!), so purchasing multiple yearly subscriptions for thousands of dollars wouldn't fit into the budget, even if we had one....
Sample topics you would like to write your elected officials about.

Sample letters you have sent (or received!) that were particularly effective.
Knowing how to phrase often complex issues in simple, straightforward language is something of an art form. If you know of a particularly good choice of words, a nice turn of phrase or have seen a succinct presentation on an important issue, let us know. Not only will it help us frame that issue, but it will give us insight into how to address other, similar issues.
